Bella & Duca are currently in training for further truffle sniffing and gun dog adventures.
Our dogs have annual boosters and vet checks. The bitch is routinely vet checked when 4 weeks in pup. Mia’s hip score is 6/5, Gino’s hip score is 9/7, his Sire, an Italian import to Australia, is 2/2, (0/0 is perfect), the highest (poorest) overall score possible is 106. Cataracts are not a problem with Lagottos in Australia, which is where we imported 3 of our dogs from.

We have recently had our dogs tested for the Benign Juvenile Epilepsy gene (link to results on a PDF – more information about BJE and breeding from a carrier of the gene is available at the bottom of this pdf and also the Genoscoper website) – in view of the results we have had Bella spayed. As Mia is clear and Gino is a carrier, they will not produce any affected puppies – they will only produce clear or carriers. Every litter will be gene tested as this should be taken into account if you are considering breeding.
If you do not intend breeding from a puppy, the pedigree registration will reflect this.
