The Meeting by Andrea Mantegna

Andrea Mantegna was an Italian early Renaissance painter who lived from 1431 to 1506. 'The Meeting' was painted between 1471-74, walnut oil on plaster, as a mural on the west wall of the Camera degli Sposi, Palazzo Ducale at Mantua, Italy. It represents the meeting of the Marquess Ludovico with his son Cardinal Francesco and his followers. The small dog in the lower left corner is the perfect image of today's Lagotto Romagnolo.
